The REAL Reason to Meditate

I first started meditating in 1999.

At the time I was a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch.

I was stressed a lot and experienced constant anxiety that would eventually spill into bouts of depression.

But back then people didn’t meditate.

Why You’re Probably Not Breathing Correctly

In the Netflix series, Stranger Things, there’s a scene where a couple of kids are whispering to each other and giggling as they point to another kid and say, “Look, he’s a mouth breather.” 

What they are insinuating is that the other kid – the mouth breather – is stupid, dumb – a knuckle dragger.  This is also how Hollywood always portrays dumb characters, with their jaws slack and mouths hanging open. And there may be some truth to it.

Is thinking making your life better?

Eckhart Tolle suffered from depression for most of his adult life. One evening as he berated himself for being such a loser and lamenting why his life was meaningless, the pain became so intense he cried out, “I can’t live with myself anymore.” Followed by, “who is the ‘I’ that can no longer live with itself*?” 

With that one question, in the midst of his torment, he had a massive transformation.
