The REAL Reason to Meditate

I first started meditating in 1999.

At the time I was a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch.

I was stressed a lot and experienced constant anxiety that would eventually spill into bouts of depression.

But back then people didn’t meditate.

How to Make Positive Changes That Last

We all have areas of our lives we’d like to improve and it would be wonderful if it was as easy as setting the intention to change – and voila we’re changed!

But it just doesn’t work like that (at least for most of us). 

Making change is hard, but that doesn’t mean we have to be hard on ourselves as well. That makes change even harder! And also, tends to sabotage our efforts.

Has the Servant Become the Master?

In Dr. Iain McGilchrist’s book, The Master and the Emissary, The Divided Brain and the Making of the Western World, he tells a story of a wise spiritual master that looked after a community so well it kept growing and flourished.

As the community became larger he realized he couldn’t continue being so involved in the day-to-day affairs, that in fact, he would lose his wise perspective if he remained too close.
